An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Montgomery County was created from Carroll and Choctaw counties. The county lost and gained territory through boundary adjustments with Sumner (later Webster) and Choctaw in 1874 and 1875, and exchanged land with Carroll in 1882.
