History
Formed in 1836 from Monroe County and Choctaw County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Chickasaw County lost territory to the creation of Calhoun County in 1852 and to Colfax (now Clay) County in 1871. Additional boundary adjustments followed, with small areas lost to what became Webster County in 1874 and 1875.
