History
Formed in 1847 from Gallatin County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Saline County was created from Gallatin County by local referendum on August 2, 1847. The county was abolished in 1851 when the state legislature returned all its territory to Gallatin County, but residents voted to re-create it in 1852. In 1854, Saline County lost territory to Hamilton County.
