History
Founded in 1860
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Nuckolls County was created by Nebraska Territory on January 13, 1860, from Non-County Area 3, though it was not initially fully organized due to a description error that was later corrected in the General Statutes of Nebraska 1873. The county was fully organized on June 27, 1871. It was named after Stephen Friel Nuckolls.
