History
Founded in 1871
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Valley County was created from Non-County Area 1 on March 1, 1871, but was not fully organized until March 18, 1873. In 1877, territory north of Valley County that had been attached for administrative purposes was lost to the creation of Wheeler County.
