History
Founded in 1867
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Adams County was created by Nebraska Territory from Non-County Area 3 on February 16, 1867, but was not fully organized at that time. The county exchanged territory with Hall County in March 1871 and was fully organized later that year in December. Adams County was named after John Adams.
