History
Formed in 1855 from Forney County and Richardson County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Gage County was created on March 16, 1855, by Nebraska Territory from the former counties of Forney and Richardson. In 1864, Gage County gained part of the original Clay County when Clay County was eliminated.
