History
Formed in 1855 from Gadsden County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Liberty County was created from Gadsden County on December 15, 1855, though a description error was corrected four days later. The county exchanged territory with Gadsden County in 1859 and again in 1910, and lost a narrow strip along its boundary with Franklin County in 1885.
