An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Beaver County was created on March 12, 1800, from parts of Allegheny and Washington counties, but was not fully organized at that time and was attached to Allegheny County. On November 7, 1803, Beaver County was fully organized and detached from Allegheny County. On September 1, 1849, Lawrence County was created from Beaver County.
