History

Formed in 1839 from Centre County and Lycoming County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Clinton County lost territory to the creation of Cameron County in 1860 and to Lycoming County in 1867, but gained land back from Lycoming in 1868.
