History

Formed in 1804 from Huntingdon County and Somerset County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Cambria County was created from Huntingdon and Somerset on March 26, 1804, but was not fully organized and remained attached to Somerset. It was fully organized and detached from Somerset on November 2, 1807. On April 30, 1855, Cambria County lost territory to Indiana County.
