History
Formed in 1851 from Brown County and Winnebago County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Outagamie County was created from Brown and Winnebago on February 17, 1851, but was not fully organized at first; it remained attached to Brown for judicial purposes. It was organized for county government on April 1, 1851, and fully separated from Brown on June 1, 1852. The county is named after the Meskwaki people.
