Where Denver's lines came from

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Denver County was established on November 15, 1902, when the City and County of Denver was created from South Arapahoe (now Arapahoe) County after Colorado voters approved Constitutional Amendment XX on November 4, 1902. Over the following decades, Denver County expanded by gaining territory from Adams County in 1941 and 1942 for airport additions, and from Arapahoe County through a series of annexations from 1943 to 1947, including neighborhoods such as University Hills, Mountain View Park, and Westwood.
