History

Formed in 1838 from Natchitoches Parish

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Caddo Parish lost territory over several decades through the creation of neighboring parishes: Desoto Parish was formed from Caddo in 1843 and again received territory in 1845, Sabine Parish was created from Caddo in 1843, and Red River Parish was created from Caddo in 1871.
