History

Formed in 1912 from Calcasieu Parish

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Beauregard Parish was created from Calcasieu Parish on June 12, 1912, and named after P. G. T. Beauregard. The parish was not fully organized at its creation, so it remained attached to Calcasieu Parish for civil and criminal purposes until January 1, 1913.
