History
Formed in 1862 from Great Salt Lake County, Salt Lake County, Green River County, Sanpete County, Summit County and Utah County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Wasatch County was created by Utah Territory from Great Salt Lake (now Salt Lake), Green River, Sanpete, Summit, and Utah counties. In 1880, it gained territory from Sanpete County but lost land to the creation of Uintah County; further losses to Utah County followed in 1884 and to Duchesne County in 1915. Wasatch became a county in the state of Utah in 1896.
