History
Formed in 1865 from Sanpete County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Sevier County was created by the Utah Territory from Sanpete County in 1865. It gained land from Piute County in 1866 and later lost territory to the creation of Emery County in 1880. The county became part of the state of Utah in 1896 and exchanged land with Millard County in 1921.
