History

Formed in 1909 from Lugenbeel County, Meyer County, Washabaugh County and Lyman County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Todd County was created from Lugenbeel County, Meyer County, Washabaugh County, and part of Non-County Area 7, with those three extinct counties eliminated. Todd was not fully organized at its creation and was attached to Lyman County for judicial purposes. Todd gained territory from Bennett County in 1911. In 1923, Todd was detached from Lyman and attached to Tripp County for judicial purposes, and remained unorganized as of 2000.
