History

Formed in 1861 from Missoula County, Shoshone County and Spokane County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Created by Washington Territory from Missoula County (Montana), Shoshone County (Idaho), and Spokane County, Nez Perce County became part of Idaho Territory in 1863. The county continued as an Idaho county when Idaho became a state on July 3, 1890.
