History
Formed in 1913 from Oneida County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Franklin County was created from Oneida County on January 30, 1913. The county was named after Franklin D. Richards. Franklin gained territory from Bannock County in 1918 and again in 1946, with proposed annexations in 1932 and 1948 both failing in referendum.
