History
Formed in 1907 from Kootenai County and Shoshone County
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Bonner County was created on February 21, 1907, from parts of Kootenai County and a small remnant of unorganized territory, and a boundary dispute with Shoshone County was settled in Shoshone's favor. The county was named after Edwin L. Bonner. On January 23, 1915, Bonner County lost territory to the creation of Boundary County.
