History

Formed in 1885 from Oneida County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Bingham County was created by Idaho Territory from Oneida County on January 13, 1885, and named after Henry H. Bingham. Since its formation, the county has lost territory through the creation of Fremont, Bannock, Bonneville, Power, and Butte counties, and through transfers to Lemhi and Fremont.
