History

Formed in 1919 from Bannock County

An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.

Caribou was created from Bannock County in 1919, and an act of the same session authorized Bannock to annex territory from Caribou, but the proposed annexation failed in a referendum in 1920. In 1948, Caribou gained areas from Bannock County through a vote in the general election held on November 2.
