History
Founded in 1893
An old deed may name a county that no longer exists, or a boundary that has since moved.
Woodward County was created in Oklahoma Territory on September 16, 1893, from part of the Cherokee Outlet. When Oklahoma became a state in 1907, Woodward County lost territory to the creation of Ellis and Harper counties and to Woods County.
